My dear Friends in Christ,
How can I cultivate a receptive heart to God’s Word in my daily life? What steps can I take to deepen my openness and attentiveness to His teachings? In what ways am I like the different types of soil mentioned in the Parable of the Sower? Our readings for this 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time tell of how our relationship with God helps us grow, which in turn allows our lives to bear fruit. What is your disposition when you hear the Word of God? Do you receive it with an open and receptive heart? Do you embrace the message? Or do you turn away and become easily distracted? For those who receive and apply it will be rewarded with bountiful fruitfulness in their lives. When we open ourselves to the Word of God, we allow it to change us and renew us by leading us on the right path. It renews our faith. It serves as a beacon of hope, inspiring us to persevere and to seek a deeper relationship with our Creator.
Next Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at 10:00 AM, and we will have our preliminary Legion of Mary Meeting in Bogdan Hall with the hope of forming a praesidium here at Corpus Christi. If you have interest, please join us. Next Sunday is also the Third World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly. *Our Second Collection next week will be for the Diocese’s Retired, Elderly and Infirm Priests Fund. Please be as generous as your means might allow.
May God bless you all,
Father John
