My dear friends in Christ,
The prophet Amos nor the Twelve had any prophetic experience and yet they demonstrated themselves in a very concise way by speaking plainly and clearly by calling people back to God and giving them authority over unclean spirits. How did Jesus determine who would work with whom? Have you ever worked with or been around someone whom you would clearly not associate with if you weren’t assigned to be with them? Would they be able to prepare themselves for the task given them? We sometimes get annoyed about where we are sent and to whom we serve. There are so many challenges before us. What does Jesus tell us to do? He says, “Take nothing for the journey but a walking stick and if you are rejected, “Shake the dust off your feet” and move on. One thing is for certain, no matter who we walk with or how we are received, the riches of God’s grace are “lavished upon us.”
Many announced 8:00 AM Mass openings are available Monday thru Friday. If you wish to reserve a Mass for a loved one or a special intention, please call the Rectory Office or stop in. Last week we had four open Masses which were offered for the people of the parish. There is a $10.00 offering for a Mass.
The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church, with active members in almost every country of the world, totaling more than 3 million. As their newly appointed spiritual advisor, we welcome the Trenton Diocesan Legion of Mary, for their Comitium meeting this weekend.
May God bless you all,
Father John
