My dear friends in Christ,
Some years ago, composer Leonard Bernstein when speaking on simplicity and the simple things of life said: “Sing God a simple song … God loves all simple things, for God is the simplest of all.” What an interesting and nice idea! It challenges us just as Matthew’s Gospel by telling us that God’s kingdom isn’t what we think. Something great can be so small, so elusive, so simple. It may be the simplest thing of all. So why do we complicate things? Why do we question God? We look for God in glitzy, glamorous places doing great things. Why couldn’t we find God in simple things? We could if we let God call us back to basics. We could if we ask God to help us in our daily lives especially in our spiritual and private prayer lives. We don’t have to misunderstand what makes God grand or what makes His work so wondrous. It can be so overwhelming but yet seems so simple, so small. “God loves all simple things. For God is the simplest of all.”
The IT Network Company was here last Friday to do a walk-thru and survey our Church for setting up a video camera/accessories which would allow us to Live-Stream Mass here at Corpus Christi Church. At the time of this writing, I had not yet received the written estimate for the project. I was told it would be in the neighborhood of $4,500 to $5,000 to complete. Unfortunately, this is a necessity at this point because we never know when another stay at home order is coming.
We continue to pray for all who are ill, especially those recovering from COVID-19.
May God bless you all,
Father John
