My dear Friends in Christ,
The Risen Lord had a tremendous impact on the disciples. Here they had been fishing all night and came up empty at dawn. Sometimes we feel like this when we have been working at something all night long and have nothing to show for it at dawn. It’s hard to be Easter people. Nightfall is a normal part of life even after experiencing the joy of the Risen Lord. The high points can wane to lows and the lows can seem to last forever. But just when we think we can get lost in the darkness, Jesus enters and brings light — in this case feeding the fishermen by giving them an abundant catch. The sad thing is that they did not recognize the Risen Lord at dawn. How often do we recognize the presence of God and of Jesus in our daily life?
Our weekly 2022 Annual Catholic Appeal gift summary as of April 18th is $22,225 which is 44% of our $50,000 goal. Thanks to all who have made a pledge and sent it in. Pledge Cards are still available in the Sacristy if you would like to contribute.
At our upcoming Pastoral/Liturgical Council Meeting, we will be discussing dates for the Spring Ministry Fair. We are in need of ministers in every category. We are especially seeking those with hidden musical talents who play instruments, i.e., organ, keyboard, guitar, brass, etc. Please refer to the bulletin for further information on the Ministry Fair when it becomes available.
May God bless you all,
Father John
