My dear friends in Christ,
St. Paul writes, “Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Are we able to let God’s loving embrace bring us the peace that can help us manage life during a pandemic and racial unrest? God’s love for us is so vast that it is beyond our comprehension. If we open ourselves to that love, God’s peace will calm our mind and spirit and make us whole. The peace of God is God’s love which is constant and endless despite the brokenness of our humanity. God loves us as we are with a love that surpasses our understanding.
Please be aware that on Sunday, October 18th, 2020, we will be adding the 11:00 AM Mass back on our schedule. We are putting together an Advent Bible Study series: “Follow Me, Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John” by Edward Sri. The bible study would begin on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM in Bogdan Hall. We are able to limit the number of attendees to 25% capacity (approx. 75 people) with social distancing, wearing of masks and proper sanitation protocols. We are unable to serve refreshments. We will take attendance in the event contact tracing is necessary. More details to follow.
The Parish/Liturgical Council will meet Monday, October 5, 2020 at 7:00 PM in Bogdan Hall. This is our first meeting back from the Pandemic. We will be planning the Advent and Christmas Seasons at this meeting.
As always, thank you for your continued generosity to our Parish.
May God bless you all,
Father John
