My dear Friends in Christ,
The Christmas Season has come to an end and now we enter into what is known as Ordinary Time. It is anything but Ordinary Time here at Corpus Christi Church. As we begin this New Year in The Lord 2022, we are still dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic with yet another strain or variant called “Omicron.” But even though this lingers, we have much to look forward to and much to be thankful for. What does Jesus ask us to do in this ordinary time of the Church? He is inviting us to follow Him and to love one another as He loves us. He is asking us to forgive one another. He is asking us to be and live like Him in our ordinary daily lives. He is asking us to reach out and to care for those who are poor, homeless, alone, hungry, and ill due to this virus.
I take this opportunity to thank all who volunteer in our ministries or serve on our committees here at the parish. I thank those who give of their time and talent when we plan events. I thank those who assist at daily Mass whether it be opening the Church or setting the Altar. It does not go unnoticed and it is greatly appreciated. “When the dust settles,” I would like to have some type of continental reception in Bogdan Hall in between Masses on a Sunday for all the volunteers that make our parish so successful.
We apologize for not having last week’s bulletin available. We have received it now and it is on the tables along with this week’s bulletin.
May God bless you all,
Father John
