My dear friends in Christ,
The Christmas Season has come to an end and now we enter into a brief (one month) period of Ordinary Time. It is anything but Ordinary Time here at Corpus Christi Church. As we begin this New Year in The Lord of 2018, we have much to look forward to and much to be thankful for. I thank each and every one of you who volunteer weekly in our ministries or serve on our committees here at the Parish. I thank those who assist at daily Mass whether it be opening the Church or setting the Altar. I thank those who give of their time and talent when we plan and celebrate parish events. It does not go unnoticed and it is greatly appreciated. On February 4, 2018 immediately following the 9:30 A.M. Mass, we will have a Continental Breakfast in your honor in Bogdan Hall. I hope to see many of you there.
You may have noticed that a Second Collection envelope was added each week to help reduce our parish deficit and to help with future projects and parish development. This added revenue, coupled with what we have received thus far from the “Faith in Our Future” Campaign, will help us to achieve the goals set forth prior to my arrival here as your administrator and now Pastor. Please note that decisions like this are made after consulting with our Finance Council and from feedback obtained from you, our community of The Faithful. It is very important to know that the 2nd collection for the third weekend of the month will remain for the St. Vincent de Paul Society at this time. It is my hope that we will continue to work together to make our Parish grow in vibrancy as we move into the future.
May God bless you all!
Father John
