My dear friends in Christ,
Love means many different things to different people. To Shakespeare, “love is blind and lovers can’t see.” To Aristotle, “love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” To Saint Paul, “only these three things last: faith, hope and love—the greatest of these is love.” How do we live this commandment? As Catholic Christians, how much love do we give to those around us? We can sing all the “love” songs Mass after Mass, service after service, and read this passage over and over again. But, how do we really love on another? How does it work to lay one’s life for one’s friends?
Faith in Our Future Cohort #1 update: Cohort #1, which includes Corpus Christi Parish, now has a new name: “The Roman Catholic Community of Burlington Pike.” Discussions are ongoing regarding Youth Ministry, business contracts to achieve economics of scale, and the working together to achieve common shared goals. A further update will be forthcoming regarding a meeting which took place last week with the employees of all three cohort parishes.
And finally, we ask God’s blessing on our Religious Education and Pope John Paul II Regional School children who will receive their First Holy Communion at the 11:30 AM Mass this morning. A thank you to Mrs. Young, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Zagola, and Mrs. Coville for their work in preparing these children for this most sacred Sacrament.
May God bless you all!
Father John
