Lent is a new beginning

My dear friends in Christ,

Pope Francis reminds us that “Lent is a new beginning, a path leading to the certain goal of Easter, Christ’s victory over death. This season urgently calls us to conversion. Lent is the favorable season for renewing our encounter with Christ who lives in His word, in the Sacraments and in our neighbors.” We are given the opportunity to create something new within ourselves and around us. Do not waste this season of Lent. Make it a favorable time for conversion!

“Never reach out your hand unless you are willing to extend an arm.” The weekend of March 23rd/24th will mark the roll-out of the Annual Catholic Appeal for the Diocese of Trenton here at Corpus Christi. As members of our diocesan family, we are called upon to love and serve all of our brothers and sisters—both within our Catholic Community and beyond. Your contribution to the ACA allows our diocese to continue to serve as a resource to the parishes and other organizations in their efforts to provide service, evangelization and outreach to people throughout Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties. A short video presentation will highlight this year’s goals.Some have asked about the Faith to Move Mountains Campaign. We recently received another check at the ACA kick-off meeting. There are two projects we are planning in the spring/summer. We have three estimates for repairing curbs, parts of the driveway, sidewalks and other exterior cosmetic features which are under review. We are now getting estimates for the renovation of the rest rooms adjacent to Bogdan Hall. All work will begin when PJPII Regional School breaks for summer recess.
