My dear Friends in Christ,
Today’s readings focus is on the Kingdom of God—a realm characterized by justice, kindness, and the power of faith. The First Reading reminds us of God’s desire for justice and His guidance in living with kindness. The Second Reading tells us that the Spirit aids us in our weakness. In the Gospel, Jesus gives us several parables (weeds in the wheat, the mustard seed, and yeast) related to the Kingdom of God, seeking to spread justice, kindness, and faith in our lives and our surrounding community. This parable depicts the co-existence and spiritual battle between good and evil, illustrating the strategies of the enemy to sow deception and hinder the kingdom’s growth. How do we respond and address the “weeds” in our lives? It is up to us to be a positive agent of change and influence in our families, at the workplace, and in the community, bringing forth the values of God’s kingdom.
You might have noticed the Monument of the Unborn on the carport side of the Church as you approach from the parking lot. This stone was transferred from the Willingboro Council K of C Home to where it will now reside in memory of the unborn children. I want to thank SK Butch Paramore for all of his work behind the scenes to make this happen.
This week’s Second Collection is for the Retired, Elderly and infirm Priests Fund. It is also part of the Diocesan observance of World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly established three years ago by Pope Francis. Please be as generous as your means may allow.
May God bless you all,
Father John
