My dear friends in Christ,
We hear in our First Reading from the Book of Sirach: “My child, conduct your affairs with humility and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts. Humble yourself the more, the greater you are and you will find favor with God.” Serving with humility is so very difficult for some people. There are those who are always looking for accolades and “pats” on the back. In our Gospel, Jesus tells a parable all about humility. He tells us not to always seek the place of honor or look for those accolades. He tells us that we should take the lowest place so that when the host comes and says move up, we will be exalted. It’s a wonderful lesson to be learned. A little humility goes a long way.
It’s hard to believe that a major portion of the Summer has passed us by so quickly. This week we will welcome back the Administration, Faculty, Staff, and Students of Pope John Paul II Regional School as they begin another school year. New students are still being accepted. It’s not too late to enroll your child/children. For further information, contact the School at 609.877.2144.
Please refer to the article adjacent to this column regarding Religious Education here at Corpus Christi. We also welcome back Mrs. Campbell, Judy, Catechists and students. If you know any children who need Religious Ed, please call 609.871.4680 to register.
Finally, Bishop O’Connell will celebrate the Opening Mass for 40 Days For Life on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold, NJ.
May God bless you all!
