How deep is your conviction that Jesus is the Lord?

My dear Friends in Christ,

Jesus’ Disciples were listening to Him speak but could not grasp the meaning. “This is too hard for us to understand,” they murmured. Finally Jesus asked them: “Does this bother you?” “The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe.” Some of His disciples turned their backs on Him and went home. Peter approached Jesus and said: “Lord, there is no one else to whom we can go. You alone have the words of eternal life.” This was an apparition and a profession of faith which must have had an impact on Jesus. Jesus did not fret over those who had walked away. It was somewhat expected. But Peter’s bold profession of faith must have lifted Jesus’ spirit. Peter’s deep conviction that Jesus truly was the Lord was a great gift to Jesus. How deep is your conviction that Jesus is the Lord? We all have doubts in Jesus at times. We try to do it ourselves or “go it alone.” It is then that we simply need to sit in His presence and allow Him to wrap us in His love.
