My dear friends in Christ,
The nature of the Trinity (or Holy Trinity) has caused centuries of argument and division within the Christian faith. The word doesn’t actually appear in the Bible itself, but the New Testament does speak of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit together. The Merriam -Webster Dictionary defines the Trinity as “the unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one Godhead according to Christian Dogma.” We acknowledge the Trinity, holy and perfect, to consist of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is not a blend of creativity. There is no alien element involved. This is an energizing reality, self-consistent and undivided in its active power, for the Father makes all things through the Word and in the Holy Spirit, and in this way the unity of the holy Trinity is preserved. Almost all the major Christian sects may be called Trinitarian. The island of Trinidad is one of many places named with the Spanish translation of Trinity.
As you all know by now, our Churches will re-open next weekend. This also happens to be our Parish Feast Day of Corpus Christi. What a blessing God has bestowed on us in allowing us to re-unite on our special day as a parish.
When you return, you must wear a mask at all times in Church. When you come forward and receive the Eucharist in your hand, you may remove your mask to consume the Body of Christ. Please see our website for more information.
May God bless you all,
Father John
