My dear friends in Christ,
What is our general reaction when we are asked to come out of our “comfort zones” to do something that we are not sure of doing? What will be the outcome? Will we get hurt? Will it change my life in any way? “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” Mary, perfected in grace, has been chosen by God for something that most of us would find frightening. Mary steps boldly and fully into the unknown. She has been told that the Holy Spirit will come upon her and that the power of the most high will overshadow her. She will not be alone. She will have the help and grace of God, for whom nothing will be impossible. Just as Mary, we need to put our fear aside and rely on God’s grace to carry us for we do nothing alone.
Our Christmas Masses are 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM on Christmas Eve and 10:00 AM on Christmas Day. We will live stream the 4:00 PM Mass on Christmas Eve and the 10:00 AM Mass on Christmas Day.
I want to thank all of you who continue to send in your love offerings. It sustains our parish and keeps us going through this most difficult time of pandemic. If you can’t make it to Mass for Christmas, the Bishop’s dispensation is still in effect until further notice. However, we do rely on whatever financial help you can give Corpus Christi Church because we don’t know when another shutdown will occur.
On behalf of the entire staff here at Corpus Christi, we wish you a very holy and Merry Christmas!
May God bless you all,
Father John
