My dear Friends in Christ,
John the Baptist has reached a low point in his life and ministry. He starts having doubts while sitting in prison. He hears news about Jesus that troubles and puzzles him. The people were waiting for the Messiah, the one to come! John sent some men to find out. Jesus was not one for magic signs. All the signs of His coming among us would be for our good and for the good of the ones who needed him. John would await reports and when he heard about the healings of Jesus, he knew he was the one. What about us? How do we know? What do we look for? The signs of Jesus in this world are of love, generosity, healing, peace, reconciliation, and all that goes to make for a better world. Now is the time to restore our faith in Him.
The Annual Catholic Appeal is nearing its end and unfortunately we as a Parish will not reach our goal of $50,000.00. To date, $29,717.00 (59% of Goal) has been pledged and $29,207.00 (58% of Goal) has been paid. Thanks to the 159 donors of our Parish who have contributed to this effort. If you would like to make a pledge, cards are available in the literature rack at the ramp exit of the Church.
Many thanks to all who made our Blessing of the Manger and Parish Christmas Tree Lighting a special event, especially to Kim and Earl for the delicious Hot Cocoa and Cookies, to Renee and the Choir, and to Santa Claus for surprising us all!
May God Bless You All,
Father John
