My dear Friends in Christ,
Divorce rates are increasing around the world, and relationship experts warn the pandemic-induced breakup curve may not have peaked yet. It seems that each passing week brings a discussion about a new variant of COVID-19 that could be more dangerous the the previous one. With people still being afraid to go out and opting to work from home, and with others still quarantining creating a new normal has become challenging. We seem to be growing more distant from one another more than ever. There has been talk amongst relationship experts and family attorneys that divorce rates will spike post-pandemic when courts are open and operating again. We need one another more now than ever. Pope Francis says: “This is a time for cooperation, not competition, for building bridges, not walls.” We ask God to strengthen and sanctify all marriages and to send His mercy upon those who need Him.
The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. Our Holy Father has asked that we all encourage our Clergy and Faithful to pray the Rosary to protect The Church from the devil’s attacks in these troubled times of crises. The Feast of “Our Lady of The Rosary” is attributed to a vision of the Blessed Mother to Saint Dominic. The Rosary (“rose garden”) is called the “Psalter of Mary” because its 150 “Aves” (all 15 decades) correspond to the number of psalms.
We will have The Blessing of Animals at 12:15 PM on Sunday in the carport area adjacent to the ball field.
May God bless you all,
Father John
