My dear friends in Christ,
The Emmaus story captures the excitement of the earliest followers of Jesus realizing that “the Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon.” But their recognition of Him was gradual, having walked along beside Him some distance, as He taught them the true meaning of the prophecies they had heard all their lives. It was not until “He took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them” that their eyes were opened and they recognized Him as He vanished from their sight. Why did Jesus vanish? By “vanishing from their sight,” He brought them to faith. They came to believe in who He was and is for all time and in His abiding presence until the end of time.
This weekend is our Ministry Fair. Please stop by the tables adjacent to Bogdan Hall and explore the Ministries and organizations that Corpus Christi offers. Maybe you would like to be part of a Ministry. Do you like to sing? The Music Ministry would love to have you? Would you like to be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion or maybe a Lector at Mass? Would you like to be an Usher and help greet the faithful and assist with collections? Would you like to be a part of the Prayer Ministries and organizations of the Parish? I urge you to take the time to stop by and visit the tables in the hallway after Mass. This is our way of getting more active participation and building a stronger foundation of faith for our future in our Parish. I look forward to seeing you at the tables!
May God bless you all!
