My dear friends in Christ,
We all have grown up being told to “Listen!” Listen to our parents, our teachers, to our advisors. Now, as adults, the Scriptures continue this saving advice: listen to God’s voice and harden not your hearts. Today, especially, we listen to the cries of our brothers and sisters who are enduring devastation and hardship here and in many places in our world. Listening can be a step toward salvation, a softening of our heart and strengthening of our will as we embrace the needs of others. So many last week listened to our appeal to help those devastated by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated and the monies collected will be sent to help those in need.
We have been asked by Bishop O’Connell to beef up our security in and around our Church. There have been situations at other parishes in our Diocese regarding gypsies in a Van who are panhandling and approaching people as they exit Church for donations. Please do not engage these people. They have been known to be very aggressive. If you see suspic ious activity, please call 911 or the Willingboro Police and report what you see. Of course you can always let me or Deacon Mike know and we will take appropriate action.
Tickets are selling well for our Spaghetti dinner. Don’t get shut out! Get your tickets today!
This week Betsy Manno will speak at all Masses to discuss her work with Fran ciscan Works + Liberian Mission. Our 2 nd collection this weekend will be for this Annual Mission Appeal.
May God bless you all!
Fr. John
