My dear friends in Christ,
For those of you who like to spend time in the mountains, the Gospel of The Transfiguration, especially in Lent, may be appealing. What would it have been like for us to be with the apostles to “see all that we might be?” Whether you embark up a mountain on your own or are led by a guide, it is difficult work. One has to be in shape to climb. One must worry about hazards along the way. For those who have traveled to the Holy Land and visited the Mount of The Transfiguration, they will tell you that it was not an easy journey. The vista is very wide and intimidating. Yet we stand in awe when we reach it.
This weekend we are launching the Annual Catholic Appeal at Corpus Christi. Many parishes launched the appeal last weekend. The Goal for Corpus Christi to reach is $70,000. We get 1/3 of that money back if we hit our goal. I am asking that you be as generous as you can even if your generosity is only $25. If every registered family gave $25, we would exceed our goal very quickly. Keep in mind that each parish is part of the larger Church in the Diocese of Trenton. The Annual Catholic Appeal helps to fund the ongoing operating expenses of the diocese from day to day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Please join us on Monday March 12, 2018 @ 7:00 PM in the Church for our Parish “Lenten Evening of Reflection.” Father Bart Karwacki, OFM Conventual, will be our guest speaker. Spread the word! We hope to see many people as we try our best to hold evenings of prayer and reflection in the spirit of the New Evangelization.
May God bless you all!
Father John
