My dear friends in Christ,
This should have been the week I joined other members of the NPM Trenton Chapter for the convention in Louisville, KY. But because of COVID-19 and civil unrest in Louisville, the live convention was cancelled and NPM went the way of a first-ever virtual convention. Who would have predicted the challenging circumstances that we would face this year? And yet — God is ever faithful. Our faith is built on the transforming power of God, Who sent His word—Jesus, the Christ—to accomplish His saving work for humankind. We trust that our allpowerful Creator will love us through these unprecedented times and bring redemption through our suffering. As our world continues to “groan” (Rom 8:22) under the burdens of disease, death, isolation, unemployment, confusion, and despair, let us remain steadfast in faith and find comfort in God’s promise of redemption.
We will continue the current Mass schedule through July. If attendance increases, we will add on another Mass and hopefully be back to our regular schedule in September. Please continue to wear your face mask in Church, always maintaining social distancing as mandated by the Governor’s executive order.
Please pray for our Confirmandi who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this past Thursday here at Corpus Christi. A special thanks to our CRE Bonnie Campbell and her assistant Judy as well as the teachers who prepared these students for this great Sacrament. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide you in your journey of faith.
May God bless you all,
Father John
