Awaken!

My dear Friends in Christ,

Today, we begin the Season of Advent, a time to come out of the darkness and into the light. It may seem difficult because we find ourselves using lamps in the morning instead of having the sunlight shine through our windows. It is also a time of preparation. Advent is about preparing ourselves for the coming of Christ in every way Christ may come. Christ not only came to us in Bethlehem over two thousand years ago, but He also comes to us today, and will do so until His final coming, when all is made new in Him. If Christ is coming we ought to be ready. St. Paul’s message is that now is the time to awaken. The Season of Advent is a time for action. It is a time for us to awaken from our slumber and joyfully run forth to meet Christ wherever we may find Him. As Jesus warns us, the people of Noah’s times were caught asleep and unaware. We don’t want this to be our fate. Now is the time to put on the armor of light and be true beacons in this world.

What better way to begin the Advent Season than by participating in one of our spiritual offerings. THAT MAN IS YOU! is a Men’s leadership program that seeks to help men encounter God within the context of their marriages and family life. Come grow with us in our Wisdom, our Faith, and Spirituality. They meet every Saturday morning at 7:00 AM in Bogdan Hall.
